Keep Your Family, Follow Ray Franz' Example. Think Smart!
by believingxjw ini feel terrible for those who have lost their families.
after reading coc, and after the shock of it, many of us hurried to leave and hurried to get our families out only to find ourselves on the outs with our loved ones.
but is that the best or only option?

New Awake - JWs are Great!
by brotherdan inthis box appears in the new awake.. how can they say they have no clergy class?
what is the governing body?
how can they say they take no money collections at kingdom halls when the contribution boxes are very visible and we are reminded to give?

Whatever they say, the JWs are no strangers to political activism. I recall once, when a JW crowd formed at NYC City Hall to protest an adverse decision on their plans for contruction in Brooklyn Heights, then-mayor Koch is reported to have said to an aide: "look at them; a crowd, and not a vote among them!" Then in France, they orgainized demonstration against the huge tax imposition. I'm sure there are other examples.

Has WT Tried to Control its Past?
by leavingwt inon another thread, an active jw wrote the following:.
but the past of jehovah's witnesses is all out there exposed for everyone that wishes to see and recount it in detail.
like charles darwin, charles russell lived during the 19th century, too, and, like darwin, russell he had some zany views (like that pyramid of russell's, for example).

Interesting how the apologist mentions Darwin and Russell in the same breath. Russell was a proponent of some kind of deistic evolution, at least in the case of the lower animals ..... not generally known among JWs today.

Favorite Bethel VOICES
by brotherdan ini grew up with certain voices (not faces) that were almost like celebrities to me.
maybe this is only a "born-in" thing.
but there are a lot of them that will forever be stuck in my head.

I was wrongfully Disfellow shipped out...help
by pes0210 inin 04 i was brought before a comitee of 3 elders and admited to sex before marriage, given my situation at the time i fell short, i showed repentance for it and they said they were going to recomend i leave for awhile to find myself spiritually...(wow the only time they got one right) i did find myself spiritually through other means.
now i have a question since i no longer want to be a part of this organization and i was cast out from it, shouldnt my records with my personal information be destroyed?
if its in a file that i do not want to exist?

My friend, I advise you to forget whether the disfellowshipping was proper or otherwise; just rejoice that you're free. You may not recognize it now or not, but they did you an enormous favor!! Move on...

I'm rather surprised that neither Achille Aveta nor Sergio Pollina, two militant anti-JW/anti-cult activists weren't participants

Dating a JW for 3 yrs
by justbreathe825 inmy bf and i are thinking on getting married.
i posted a foum early this week on whether or not i should get baptized.
i decided not to.. now even though he says he "doesn't care" he got upset last night when i mentioned the subject and how confused i was.

this is a serious event in your life; my advice is: don't consent to baptism just to preserve the relationship or marriage prospects; the act of baptism will subject you to a plethora of rules you're likely to reject. Take your time and proceed carefully; but don't acqueisce to a commitment of baptism merely to preserve the relationship.... it has the potential for making a tragic mistake
